Pro Editor - Overview

Get started with Pro Editor and learn what all of the options and features are.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Pro Editor is one of Workflows in AudioStack's Creative Production solution. You can access it in the platform, using the menu on the left hand side of the homepage. Alternatively, you can open existing projects that have been created in Instant Creative or Create an Ad in Pro Editor.

Opening Pro Editor

Option 1: Open Pro Editor directly (you'll need access to the feature to see it).

Option 2: Right-click on a Project to see the option to edit it using Pro Editor

Pro Editor will always open in a new window. It has a classic DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) interface, similar to LogicPro, ProTools or Adobe Audition.

The interface

1. Playback Controls

Return to start button |<

Go back to the start of your audio track.

Play button >

Plays your audio track from the playhead.

Go to end button >|

Takes you to the end of your audio track.

The Playhead

The red arrow and line shows you from which part of the audio track playback will begin when you hit Play.

2. Content menu

The top bar gives you four options to create or choose new content to import into the editor:

  • Generate speech will give you the option to generate text-to-speech voice lines to import into the 'Voices' track.

  • Sound Designs is music.

  • Sound Effects contains ambient, natural and synthetic sounds to create a richer soundscape or punctuate your audio track.

  • Media Files includes the files you or other members of your organization have uploaded (including voices, SFX, music, and more).

Learn more how each of these functions work here.

3. Tracks

There are 4 types of tracks in Pro Editor:

  • Voices - This is where text-to-speech or speech-to-speech voiceover tracks go.

  • Sound Design - This is where music tracks go.

  • Sound Effects - This is where sound effects go.

  • Media Files - This is where miscellaneous media you have uploaded will go (voice, music, jingles, SFX, etc.).

4. Additional Track Controls

Each track can be controlled as such:

  • Volume slider

  • M - Mutes the individual track

  • S - Solos the individual track

5. Producing / Mastering

The "Produce Audio" button will process your audio. AudioStack's proprietary mastering process will level the volume of each track, reduce noise, apply filters such as compression and reverb, and ultimately leave you with a perfectly mixed and mastered audio file.

6. Play and Download

Use the Play button to listen to the generated audio and use the download icon on the right to save your audio file as an MP3 file.

Learn more about exporting audio for use in your desktop DAW, in other AudioStack workflows and preparing ads for versioning here.

💡 Any change you make to your tracks in your Pro Editor session will be saved automatically, so you can close the Pro Editor window at any time.

If you or your admin give other team members in your Organization access to both Pro Editor and Projects, they will be able to open your Projects and work on them with you.
