Create an Ad - Step 1: Create

This is the first step of the 'Create an Ad' workflow: choosing script, voices, basic sound design and length.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Step 1: Create

In this step, you will brief AudioStack's AI ad engine to direct it to create an audio ad. To get started, you can either provide:

  • Custom Script: If you have a script ready, write or paste it in the script text box.

  • Product Description: If you want AudioStack to create a script for you based on the product information you provide, simply describe the product or service.

  • (coming soon) Uploaded File: Upload a briefing form.

Once you have entered enough information, click on 'Generate' to create up to three ad options from scratch. These only take a few seconds to generate, so you can try it as many times as you like.

To preview the audio for each option, click on the play button next to the audio wave on the bottom left of the ad card.

If you don't like the ads, just click on 'Generate' again to create another batch.

However, be aware that you can easily change any of the elements of the ad (script, voice, music) by clicking Edit, so you can customise any ad.

When you are happy with the basic content of your ad and are ready to take it further with more creative edits, click on 'Refine this ad' to move on to the next step. Alternatively, if your ad already sounds good enough, you can click 'Ready to use' to skip to exporting your audio.

Ad Language

When creating an ad, there are two main language controls you need to be aware of.

Script language is the language that your script is written in. This determines what language your finished ad will be in, when it is read.

To set the script language (or main language for your ad's content), click on the global to the right of the text box.

By default, the language will be set to autodetect. If you are using a very short script (<10 words long) or the AI struggles to identify your language, simply click on the globe icon to set the script language manually.

Voice language is the native language of the synthetic voice that will read your ad. By default, AudioStack will try to find a voice that speaks the language of your script. You can override this in the advanced controls if you wish. You'll learn more about this next.

Advanced Controls

When creating an ad, elements like ad duration, tone of voice, and sound design are suggested automatically to you based on the content you provide. That said, you can also choose some of these aspects to influence the content and style of the ad. To do that, use Advanced Controls.

πŸ’‘ You can always change the content of your ad - so feel free to experiment!

Learning how to use the Advanced Controls will allow you to make creative decisions about how you want your ad to sound.

Within the Advanced Controls, you can change a number of factors:

Content

In the Content tab, you can set the ad length. If you're starting from a script, you can specify any length. You can also decide whether you want to lock the ad so that it is a specific length, or simply allow the script to be read at its natural speed.

When starting from a description, the available ad lengths are limited, so the AI can create an appropriate script. Don't worry - you can make more precise edits to the length after the first draft is generated.

When starting from a description, you can create an ad that is 10, 15, 20, 30, or 40 seconds long.

πŸ’‘ You will be able to fine-tune ad duration even more in the next step.

Speech

In the 'Speech' tab, you can select a Tone of Voice (high-pitched, fun, confident...) and a Voice Gender (male, female, recommended - this includes all genders including non-binary voices).

Alternatively, you can select a voice from AudioStack's extensive library.

You can also select a native language (although the tool will autodetect it from your text by default) and an accent. The voice language and accent determine which voice will be chosen to read your script. For example, you might want AudioStack to select a voice with an American accent.

To change the language of the script, click on the globe to the right of the text box instead. If it seems like the voice options you've selected are not compatible with the script language, you will see this warning:

If you see this warning, please make sure that the language selected matches up with the script language. If the voice language you'd like to use is not shown, simply select 'Autodetect'. Support for a wider range of accents is coming soon.

Production

In the 'Production' tab, you can influence the backing music selected for your ad. You can decide to use the recommended music, to not to use any music at all, or choose a sound template based on mood (upbeat, calm, chilled...)

This will have an effect on which Sound Template is selected for your ad. If you choose Recommended, the AI will choose music based on the mood of your script.

Delivery

In the 'Delivery' tab, you can tell AudioStack how many versions of your ad to generate - by default, 3 versions will be generated, so that you can choose your favourite to build on.
