Introduction

A dynamic audio campaign can contain thousands of personalized ads.

The Create a VAST Tag workflow helps you upload all your dynamic audio ads, map them to selected macros (such as Time and Location), and generate a single VAST tag ready for use in your ad server.

This guide will walk you through the setup step-by-step.

Getting Started

To begin, make sure you have access to the Create a VAST Tag workflow.

If it’s not already available in your account, ask your admin or your AudioStack account manager to enable the Dynamic Creative solution.

Once enabled, you’ll see it listed in the left-hand menu. Click Start Workflow to begin.

Step 1 – Set Up

In the first step you will be asked to provide the essential information in order to create your campaign.

Campaign Details

  • Enter a Campaign Name

  • Upload a Default Creative (this will serve as the fallback ad when no personalized version is available)

Ad Server & Macros

  • Select the Ad Server you’ll use to traffic the campaign

  • Choose the Macros to apply. Currently, only Time and Location macros are supportedNext, select the Ad Server you are planning to traffic the campaign with.

Optional: Banners

  • Upload or select a Rectangle Banner and a Square Banner

  • These must meet exact size requirements:

    • Rectangle: 300 × 250 px

    • Square: 301 × 301 px

💡 Tip: Double-check banner dimensions before uploading to avoid errors.

Step 2 – Mapping

In this step, you’ll add all the creatives for your campaign and link them to the macros you selected earlier.

  1. Upload Creatives

    • Select or upload all the audio creatives you want to use

    • Once uploaded, the table will automatically update to display them

  2. Map Creatives to Macros (via CSV)

    • Download the provided CSV template

    • Fill in the template to define how each creative should map to the selected macros (e.g., Time, Location)

    • Re-upload the completed CSV

After re-uploading, the table will refresh and display the mapped creatives according to your settings.

Step 3 – Activation

Once the mapping is complete, you can move to the Activation step.
Here, you will get your VAST tag, ready to be trafficked in your chosen Ad Server.

How to edit a VAST tag
